I am a Professor of Statistics at the University of Glasgow. My research focuses on uncertainty quantification for AI algorithms in medical image analysis, as well as the theory and geometry of mixture models and functional data analysis. I am particularly interested in problems arising from “large magnitude,” both in the dimensionality of data and in the scale of datasets. My methodological work spans multivariate mixtures, structural equation models, high-dimensional clustering, and functional clustering. Collaborative projects include medical image segmentation, immunology, and climate–ecosystem dynamics, with a growing emphasis on translating medical imaging software tools into clinical practice.
